Rovida Terms of Use

1. What Rovida Provides

Rovida is a technology platform connecting seekers and owners across India for:

• Residential Properties: Rooms, apartments, flats, houses, villas, and paying guest (PG) accommodations.
• Commercial Properties: Offices, retail shops, co-working spaces, and warehouses.
• Venues & Event Spaces: Banquet halls, conference rooms, photo studios, and open lawns.
• Vehicles: Cars, motorbikes, and scooters for short and long-term rental.

2. Eligibility & Account Security

• You must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into binding contracts under Indian law.
• For vehicle rentals, drivers must possess a valid Indian Driving Licence (or recognized International Driving Permit) appropriate for the vehicle class.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, passwords, and OTPs.

3. Listing, Booking & Pricing Rules

For Hosts (Asset Owners):

• All listing details, photos, amenities, pricing, and rules must be truthful and accurate.
• Hosts must hold legal authority, title, or valid landlord permission to sublet or rent the asset.
• Vehicles must possess valid registration (RC), active third-party insurance, and fitness/PUC certificates.

For Renters (Seekers):

• Renters agree to pay the listed rental fee, applicable platform fee, and security deposits via verified payment channels.
• Renters must use the asset responsibly, observe stated house/vehicle rules, and return the asset in agreed condition.

4. Payments, Escrow Protection & Host Settlement Cycles

All financial transactions are conducted in Indian Rupees (INR) through authorized payment aggregators (such as Cashfree Payments).

• Seeker Platform Fee: Rovida charges a transparent 5% platform fee added to the gross rental amount, fully disclosed before checkout.
• Host Commission: A 7% platform fee is deducted from the Host's gross rental earnings. Hosts do not collect GST separately from Renters.
• Escrow Protection: All rental booking payments are securely held in Rovida's integrated Cashfree escrow account and unlock into the Host's available wallet balance exactly 24 hours after scheduled check-in or trip commencement.
• Standard Weekly Settlement (Free): Host available balances are automatically batched and disbursed to their registered bank account or UPI VPA every Monday (with batch payouts processed on schedule, including weekends where applicable) with zero (₹0) processing or convenience fee.
• ⚡ Instant Cash-Out: Hosts may initiate on-demand withdrawals from their available balance at any time. Instant payouts are processed via Cashfree immediate rails for a nominal convenience fee of ₹15 per withdrawal.
• Security Deposits: Where applicable, security deposits are held in escrow or authorized dynamically and refunded upon successful return without damages.

5. Cancellations, Refunds & Fair-Play Policies

Rovida maintains a standardized marketplace cancellation and refund matrix designed to protect both Seekers and Hosts:

A. Guest-Initiated Cancellations

• 1-Hour Accidental Booking Cooling-Off Period: If a guest cancels within one (1) hour of payment confirmation (and prior to trip start), they receive an unconditional 100% full refund with 0% platform fee retained.
• Non-Refundable 5% Platform Fee Rule: Outside the 1-hour cooling-off window, the 5% platform fee is strictly non-refundable to cover non-recoverable payment gateway charges and transaction costs.
• More than 24 hours before start: Guest receives a 50% refund of the Base Rental Price (5% platform fee retained). In addition, Rovida credits a 20% trip recovery discount coupon to the guest's account for their next booking.
• Less than 24 hours before start: Non-refundable (0% refund). The guest receives a 35% trip recovery discount coupon for their next booking.
• Monthly Stays 30-Day Notice Rule: Early departures on monthly rentals require a 30-day notice; unused days beyond the 30-day notice period are refunded proportionally.

B. Host-Initiated Cancellations & Penalties

• 100% Full Refund: If a Host cancels a confirmed reservation, the guest receives an immediate unconditional 100% refund of the total booking price.
• Host Cancellation Penalty: Cancelling hosts incur a penalty (5% to 20% of base price based on notice period) debited from their wallet.
• Debt Recovery & Fair-Play Lock: Negative wallet balances must be settled before account deactivation. Cancelled listing dates are automatically locked to prevent predatory re-booking at higher rates.
• Seeker Apology Token: Displaced guests receive a targeted apology discount voucher (CARE-XXXXXX) funded from the host penalty to assist with alternative accommodations.

C. Extenuating Circumstances & Refund Timelines

• Emergency Waivers: Formal waiver requests with verified documentation (medical emergencies, natural disasters, official travel restrictions) qualify for cancellation fee relief.
• Processing Timelines: Refunds are initiated through Cashfree within 24 hours of cancellation and typically reflect in the original payment source within 3 to 7 business days.

6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any legal proceeding, dispute, or claim arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.
